Bye bye Hong Kong - hello Hanoi, Vietnam

After 5 days in Hong Kong, it's time to pack up and get ready for the next leg of our trip - Vietnam.  But before we go, it's time to acknowledge the great service we had from the Excelsior Hotel staff in the executive lounge.  They took care of us through breakfast and lunch most days and checked us out and got us into a can to the airport.  What great people they were......
Karen on the right is the manager, keeps everyone on track - including us!

Who's that bald headed guy?

Took a few pictures to the airport which don't really do justice to the size of some very long bridges and all the construction that's going on outside Hong Kong island

The harbour area with many barges and boats

In the background, suspension bridge cables - stuff an engineer notices

Love those bridge suspension cables

Here we are at Hong Kong airport - the plane to Hanoi awaits....

A packed flight....
Landed at brand new Hanoi airport, met by the Amawaterways tour people and off we went by bus to the Sofitel in the old quarter.  Lots of motorbikes - 8 million Hanoi inhabitants - 6 million motorbikes.

Checked in, tomorrow we get started on seeing Hanoi.....
